ESERCIZIO FRASI NEGATIVE IN INGLESE

Riscrivi le frasi seguenti utilizzando una forma di ANY  (per la spiegazione vedi QUI)
Esempio:
The teacher found no errors ----> The teacher didn’t find any errors (not + any)


I will accept nothing but excellence;

I won’t accept anything but excellence

John could take no one’s advice;

John couldn’t take anyone’s advice

There is nowhere for you to hide;

There isn’t anywhere for you to hide

Ms. Brooks spoke with nobody about the problem.;

Ms. Brooks didn’t speak with anybody about the problem

You should give no one so young that kind of responsibility;

You shouldn’t give anyone so young that kind of responsibility

That will take no time at all.;

That won’t take any time at all

There is nothing else that I want to say;

There isn’t anything else that I want to say

My parents had found no place to spend the night.;

My parents hadn’t found any place to spend the night.

They will achieve nothing from their efforts.;

They won’t achieve anything from their efforts.

COME USARE LE FORME DI NEGAZIONE IN INGLESE

In inglese la negazione si ottiene in due modi:

-negando il verbo e utilizzando any--->I DON'T WANT ANY MONEY FROM YOU (non voglio soldi da te)

-non si nega il verbo, bensì l'oggetto attraverso un no o un pronome + no--->I WANT NO MONEY FROM YOU

Tradotte letteralmente queste due espressioni suonano così:

1) Io non voglio qualche(del) denaro da te [la negazione è sul verbo (non voglio) mentre any ha significato positivo (qualche/del)]

2) Io voglio nessun denaro da te [il verbo è positivo (io voglio) e la negazione è posta davanti all'oggetto del volere (nessun denaro)]

Le formule di negazione in Inglese sono:  

no, not, not any, none, nothing, no one, never, nowhere, nobody

Vediamo qualche esempio

I have no time for this now---->Non ho tempo per questo, adesso [negazione sull'oggetto]

You are not allowed to smoke here--->Non ti è permesso fumare qui [negazione sul verbo]

I have nothing more to say to you--->Non ho più niente da dirti [negazione sull'oggetto]

Le formule da utilizzare sono 

        no [negano l'oggetto]               e             any [negano il verbo]sono: 

no                                     not any

no one                              not anyone

nobody                             not anybody

nowhere                           not anywhere

nothing                             not anything

                                          I have no money       -------      I do not have any money

                                  He spoke to no one about it   -----   He did not speak to anyone about it

            

Ricordate che l' inglese vuole SOLO UNA NEGAZIONE (o al verbo o all'oggetto) mentre in italiano normalmente ne utilizziamo due: "neghiamo" il verbo e in più aggiungiamo un avverbio/congiunzione che rafforza la negazione

Esempio:

They never really expected to win the lottery---->Non hanno mai pensato realmente di vincere la lotteria

Ho spoke to no one about it---->Non ne ha parlato con nessuno
