The document I chose is an old postcard. (a photo, a painting, a drawing)
It dates from 1917 and it is entitled “Room for two”.
It represents a seascape with a boy and a girl sitting on a rock in the sea. (tema generale)

The scene takes place during the day (quando?), probably at midday because the shadow of the rock is right in front of it and the sun seems to be high in the sky.

The two children  (chi?) are sitting back to back and they are dressed in an old-fashioned way, with typical bathing suit: the girl's one is blue, while the boy's one is striped red and white. The girl is blond, with curly hair and red cheeks, the boy has got brown, short hair. Both them hold something in their hands: the girl has got a blue parasol in her right hand, whereas the boy has got a little oar. (cosa fanno i personaggi)
The rock they are sitting on is grey and covered by algae.

The sea water is calm and there are just few, gentle waves around the rock. In the background there is a boat with a big, white sail. The sky is pale violet, while the sea is light blue.

Traduzione
Il documento che ho scelto è una vecchia cartolina.
E' datata 1917 ed è intitolata "Camera per due" (o "Spazio per due").
Rappresenta un paesaggio marino con un ragazzo e una ragazza seduti su una grossa pietra nell'acqua.
La scena è ambientata durante il giorno, probabilmente verso mezzogiorno in quanto l'ombra della pietra è proprio davanti ad essa e perché il sole sembra essere alto nel cielo.
I due bambini sono seduti schiena contro schiena e sono vestiti in modo antiquato, con i tipici costumi da bagno di una volta: quello della bambina è blu, mentre quello del ragazzo è a righe bianche e rosse. La ragazza è bionda, coi capelli ricci e le guance rosse; il ragazzo ha i capelli castani e corti.
Entrambi hanno qualcosa in mano: la ragazza ha un ombrellino blu nella mano destra, invece il ragazzo tiene un piccolo remo,
La pietra su cui sono seduti è grigia ed è ricoperta di alghe.
In primo piano si vede una piccola barchetta rossa che galleggia sull'acqua ed è probabilmente il giocattolo con cui stanno giocando i bambini.
L'acqua del mare è calma e ci sono solo alcune piccole onde vicino allo scoglio.
Sullo sfondo c'è una barca con una grande vela bianca.
Il cielo è di un violetto chiaro, mentre il mare è azzurro.
I colori di questa cartolina sono brillanti e delicati e tutta l'atmosfera della scena è calma e piacevole.
